Biography
John W. Mills (“Jack”) founded the firm in 2004. He has worked for over thirty years as a civil litigation attorney, trying cases in state and federal courts throughout Connecticut on behalf of individuals and companies. Jack’s practice focuses on jury trials, and he has tried more than 100 hundred cases to verdict. Jack has also handled appellate work, appearing before the Connecticut Appellate Court and the Connecticut Supreme Court. He has also presented appeals to the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. Jack also passed the written examination to receive board certification in Civil Trial Advocacy from the National Board of Trial Advocacy. Jack has been a member for many years of both the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association and the Connecticut Defense Lawyers Association. He has appeared as a lecturer at professional seminars attended by other lawyers and judges on multiple occasions and has been featured numerous times on the cover of the Connecticut Law Tribune and in newspapers such as the Norwalk Hour and the New Haven Register.
Jack has been named multiple times as a Connecticut “Super Lawyer” by his peers and has also been recognized in the Best Lawyers in America, as well as obtaining one of the top 50 civil case results in the United States in 2019.
In his spare time, Jack is an avid cyclist, and he has consistently volunteered at cycling events throughout Connecticut to raise awareness of bike safety and cyclists’ rights. He has long been a member of Elm City Cycling, and has been among the original supporters of the Rock to Rock rides and the New Haven Grand Prixe, which raises funds to promote cycling as a youth sport in schools throughout Connecticut.
